specialist philosophy teaching

I am currently training with The Philosophy Foundation to be a Specialist Philosophy Teacher in junior schools.

Philosophy Foundation teachers are specialists in philosophy and are able to do philosophy with everyone from nursery to adulthood. As well as working in schools and home education groups the Foundation rund adult classes and residential courses, and can run one off workshops.

Teachers are trained in the use of ‘Enquiry’, a philosophical technique that is learner-centred and develops speaking and listening skills, basic reasoning skills, questioning skills as well as building confidence, concentration and collaboration skills. Enquiry can be used to develop higher-order thinking through all topics and national curriculum subjects.
